Community Buildings - Asset Transfer Meeting

A meeting for community groups and individuals running buildings or interested in finding out how to take over management of either a community building or youth centre in your area

Meeting and discussion, Tuesday 16th July 2pm-4pm at The Trinity Centre. Hosted by the Community Buildings Federation, in partnership with Bristol City Council's Community Assets Team.

Are you a community group, charity or association running a community centre or building owned by Bristol City Council?

Are you a group or individual interested in taking over management of a community building in Bristol?

Or perhaps you're interested in the future of a youth centre in your area?

This meeting is for anyone interested in finding out a bit more about Bristol's Community Asset Transfer (CAT) policy, the process you have to go through to get a building and what to do once your in your building in relation to long term leases.

In addition, as part of package of hard choices in the council's last budget, a decision was made to close a number of its youth centres. These are now also being offered as potential Community Asset Transfers to qualifying community groups across the city, so this meeting will help you to find out a bit more about the process and ask questions if you are interested in taking over the running of a youth centre in your area.

Bristol City Council implemented a CAT policy 3 years ago and are now reviewing its performance and are keen to hear keen to hear from people who are considering CAT, or who have already gone through the process, about their experiences, positives and pitfalls. This is an open meeting and everyone is welcome to attend to raise questions, resolve issues, help to inform the CAT policy review or just to find out more.
