Saving Jacobs Wells Baths
Built in 1889 to serve the working poor, Jacobs Wells Baths in the Clifton Conservation Area is a Grade II Listed building rich in architectural, social, and cultural heritage. Dormant since 2018, the building faced an uncertain future when plans to reinstate the pool collapsed. In 2023, the community launched the #SaveJWB campaign. Following a Community Asset Transfer process, owners Bristol City Council agreed to transfer the asset to Trinity as a guardian through a 35-year lease to bring the site back into civic and cultural use. We’re now working to repair and restore the building into a vibrant, multi-purpose community, arts and heritage hub, reconnecting it with the people it was built to serve.
