Echo: Celebrating Bristol and Bordeaux twinning

A Cross-City Celebration of Sound & Culture

Echo brings together Trinity, Le Rocher de Palmer in Bordeaux, and Twin Cities to celebrate a remarkable 79 years partnership between these two officially twinned cities.

Join us on 30th May at Trinity for a vibrant day of music, where grassroots talent from Bristol meets exciting artists from Bordeaux. Expect feel-good garden party vibes with a distinctive French twist. A perfect day out for all ages, with delicious food and activities for the whole family. The celebration doesn’t stop there , Echo travels to Bordeaux on 19th September, taking over Le Rocher de Palmer for the second chapter of this unique cultural exchange.

Other activities:

1-2pm: Panel discussion with artists from both cities discussing the lived realities of being an artist within different cultural ecosystems.

2-4pm: Arts and Carft delivered by Laura from Colourful Minds

The activity will be to use recycled materials to make a skyline of colourful buildings. There will lots of different arts and crafts to use, so people can get really imaginative and creative. The local Primary Schools have previously taken part in this activity and their creations of famous landmarks from both Bristol and Bordeaux will be displayed to offer some inspiration.

3-4.30pm: French creative workshop delivered by Petite Pousse

Bilingual storytime based on Giraffes Can't Dance, weaving in French words and sentences naturally throughout the story. This will be followed by a short movement session where children and parents learn a few French words through dance and actions. Finally, children will have the chance to create their own giraffe puppet to take home and make them dance.
