Welcome UWE professor and researcher, Dr Fidel Meraz and Canadian artist, Jonathan Luckhurst, whilst they explore architecture as not only a built space, but as an arena for reimagining more sustainable and inclusive futures.

Jonathan Luckhurst will present Proposals for Reimagined Futures, his current body of work that draws on deep time ecological strategies to suggest how both humans and the Earth might respond to the current environmental crisis. Whilst, Dr Fidel Meraz, will highlight Bristol's local architectural context through his photography and research surrounding the Trinity Art Centre's new location to be housed in the historic Jacob Wells Baths building.

Two 20-minute artist presentations will be followed by a live Q&A. The evening concludes with an opportunity to exchange ideas and make new connections.

This is Dazee's second event with us and we're very excited to have her back! Drum and bass Dj, producer, label owner and broadcaster, Dazee champions a jungle-jump-up hybrid style characterised by the warmth of her “BristolSound” roots. Resident for one of the UKs largest dnb brands, Run, and a regular player at major events such as Glastonbury, Hospitality, Love Saves The Day, Dazee has relentlessly pursued her jungle campaign on airwaves and dance floors across the globe for three decades. Her fluid and musical DJ style with signature rolling bass, stepper style breaks and sample -based motivs have kept her in demand with fitnessbrands and world class stages alike and in addition to managing her label, Dazee has an ever-growing catalogue of her own productions and colabs.

DESELECTA
Deselecta is a drum and bass DJ, known for her exploration into the murky depth’s of the underground. The deep and twisted nature of her mixes can only be defined by her commitment to the sound, covering beats of the past and present.

SIMMONS
SIMMONS is a DJ hailing from Hertfordshire, growing up with a extensive taste of music through family, from rock to trance, techno to country, until he finally found drum and bass at the age of 14. Stepping onto his first set of decks at 15 years old, his DJ career has thrown him through the free party scene and also playing at club nights alongside the likes of Hybrid Minds, Annix, Turno, Gunna, Harry Shotta and many more. He curates his sets around liquid and dancefloor heavy hitters. Expect a journey when this man steps up to the decks!

Trinity is proud to present Echo, an international cross-city celebration of sound, creativity and community. Developed in partnership with Le Rocher de Palmer (Bordeaux), and Twin Cities Fest, Echo marks a remarkable 79-year relationship between the two officially twinned cities, bringing together grassroots artists, cultural practitioners and local communities through a free one-day festival at Trinity on 30 May.

This first chapter of Echo takes place in Bristol, with the celebration continuing in France as the programme travels to Le Rocher de Palmer on 19 September for the second half of this unique cultural exchange.

Audiences at Trinity can expect a day of music performances, food, and refreshments available from local vendors and community engagement for all ages as Bristol’s grassroots talent meets exciting artists from Bordeaux. With Trinity Garden‑party vibes, Echo offers a feel‑good day out for the whole family.

Alongside the main programme, pupils from Hannah More Primary School, St Nicholas of Tolentine Primary School, Evergreen Primary Academy and Easton CE Academy have been taking part in after‑school sessions led by artist Laura Clifford, the CEO of Colourful Minds. Using recycled materials, each KS2 group created detailed skyline artworks combining iconic landmarks from both Bristol and Bordeaux. These collaborative pieces will be displayed at Trinity during the festival, inviting children, families and the wider community to celebrate their work.

Bristol City Council  visited each participating school to deliver assemblies and staff sessions, introducing an accompanying classroom activity pack.

Flamin' Groovies announce a handful of dates this autumn to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their iconic Power Pop song (and album) 'Shake Some Action'. Originally formed in San Francisco by Cyril Jordan and Roy Loney in 1965, Flamin' Groovies released their first three seminal albums 'Supersnazz', 'Flamingo', and 'Teenage Head' before Roy Loney left the group in 1971. Chris Wilson replaced Loney and the band went on release their now classic albums betweern 1976-1979 - 'Shake Some Action', 'Flamin' Groovies Now' and 'Jumpin' In The Night'. In 1976, Flamin' Groovies headlined the Roundhouse in London with support from Ramones and The Stranglers. This legendary concert has been cited as one of the influences behind the punk rock scene.

This event is part of Trinity Presents, our in-house series showcasing outstanding artists and fresh new voices, rooted in communities at the heart of the city.

Makaani means 'my place' in Arabic. Or, ‘I belong here’. Makaani Arts are inviting performers and practitioners with shared regional heritage to celebrate their art. Bridging cultures in a day of family-friendly community joy.

Expect dance workshops, live music, film, food and DJs. In collaboration with Chalguh Chengi, Vilk Collective and the Diverse Artists Network. Suitable for all ages.

FEATURING

Chalguh Chengi, meaning the spirit of live music and dance in Turkish, is a collective of artists who celebrate the deep-rooted folk music and dance of Anatolia and the Mediterranean. Showcasing the inherent diversity and fluidity of the region, this group brings live performance and fun, interactive family workshops.

Vilk Collective is a musical collaboration between Roxana Vilk and Peter Vilk, whose work is rooted in migration, memory and collective voice. With heritage spanning Iran, the former Czechoslovakia, and the UK, their music weaves Persian folk, jazz, dub and funk into a unique global sound.
