The Last Poets - VENUE CHANGE

This show will now take place at The Exchange

Bam!Bam!Bam! Presents the The Last Poets – new album tour.

The Last Poets, who are considered the birthplace of rap (Chuck D), return with their fist album in 20 years, ‘Understand What Black is’.

Born in the wake of the civil rights movement, Harlem’s Last Poets are influential spoken word artists, poets and commentators who fuse politically outspoken lyrics with inventive percussion.

Their 1970 album is considered the first hip hop album of all time.Produced by Ben Lamdin (Nostaglia 77) and Brighton legend Prince Fatty, whose speciality is traditional reggae and dub, ‘Understand What Black Is’ is a ten-track album which speaks of a revolutionary struggle defined by both race and identity, that has never sounded more relevant.
