Movement workshop for anyone who likes to move

A series of three movement sessions (1st October, 5th November and 3rd December)

Dance maker Laïla Diallo will lead movement workshops at Trinity this Autumn. The sessions will begin with a gentle tuning in, warming up and offer opportunities to move together as well as to explore and expand our own dances. No dance training required, but playfulness and curiosity essential.

‘I'm interested in people bringing into the room what they love about moving and I'm interested in noticing what happens when we get together and we move alongside and with each other. I'm interested in softening boundaries around this and that… age, gender, ability, experience, and all the rest.’ - Laïla Diallo

You are welcome to join in any one or all of the three workshops. Open to all ages (Children must be accompanied by an adult).

It’s free but please book as places are limited.

Sunday 3 December 4pm - 6pm - Register here

Offered in partnership with Trinity Centre, the workshops are part of a wider choreographic research project initiated by Laila Diallo and supported using public funding by Arts Council England.

Laila Diallo is a Canadian-born, Bristol-based dance maker. Alongside independently and collaboratively devising work for live performance, Laila often works as movement director in theatre and opera. She also frequently works within the university and vocational sectors, with children, youth and community groups as well as with emerging artists and peers, through commissioned work and the delivery of workshops, classes, public talks and mentoring. Her most recent work, Something about wilderness and several attempts at taming beauty , was co-created with Mélanie Demers for Skanes Dansteater (Malmo, Sweden).
