Why Trinity has a Glossary

At Trinity, we recognise that language evolves, and words can hold different meanings for different people. To make sure we communicate clearly and consistently, we’ve created a glossary that explains how we use key terms across our work.

Our aim is transparency: when we say words like community, diversity or governance, we want everyone - our team, partners, funders and stakeholders - to understand exactly what we mean.

Here are some of the regular words Trinity uses to describe our work and activities and what they mean to us:

Vision why we're here and what we hope the world will look like if we succeed in our mission – Creative expression for all

Mission what we're doing to fulfill our vision – Empowering communities through arts

Values what matters to us in delivering our mission – Respond – Empower – Amplify

Ethos how we bring our values to life in our work - Joy – Freedom – Authenticity

Purpose The social and civic impact we aim to achieve through our work, including citizen-led advocacy, cultural influence and inclusion

Creativity is the process by which we or others make or present something; a work of art, a song or a show, for example

Culture is the result of that creative process and how we meet that in our everyday lives; that could be in museum, theatres or gallery, at a carnival or music venue, or even in our homes and online spaces

This policy has been updated in response to updated Government guidelines, and is designed to help visitors decide whether or not to attend the Centre during the pandemic.

Attending the venue

To keep others safe, we strongly advise all event attendees to:

take a PCR/lateral flow test prior to coming on site

wash and sanitise hands regularly

respect the personal space and boundaries of others

in addition to the above, we strongly advise all other Centre users to wear a face covering when walking around the building.

Please DO NOT come to the Centre if you:

have recently tested positive for COVID-19 and/or

have been asked to self-isolate via the NHS Test and Trace app and/or

have symptoms of COVID-19 - click here for latest Public Health England guidance

Unable to attend?

Due to the lifting of isolation requirements, we will no longer be issuing refunds due to COVID-19. Please use an ethical resale site, such as Twickets or TicketSwap, if you are unable to attend.

If you have purchased your tickets from an external ticket vendor, please contact them directly for their refund policy.

If you have any concerns about tickets, please contact us at info@trinitybristol.org.uk.

What we’re doing

The health and safety of those using our Centre is our top priority. Trinity has been, and will continue to, closely monitor Public Health England (PHE) guidelines in relation to COVID-19.

We are working to take all reasonable, practical steps to ensure the safety of visitors and minimise risk of infection.

During gigs and club nights:

We will have screens up at the bar

We have installed hand-sanitiser stations at key points

We have installed UV air filtration units at key points

What about air?

Trinity is a Grade II* listed building, with neighbouring residents in close earshot. This makes ventilating the building and air filtration difficult. We are being supported by Architectural Heritage Fund to develop a medium and long-term plan to improve ventilation.

We have installed UV air filtration units at key points around our main events space; eliminating high levels of respiratory viruses, bacteria, and pollution from indoor air. For more information on these UV air filtration units, please see here.

We will continue to provide updates as this plan emerges. If you would like to contact us about our advice for attending Trinity, please email us on feedback@trinitybristol.org.uk.

Your safety

We want to make sure The Trinity Centre is a safe space, where everyone can enjoy music, art, and freedom of expression, and be themselves, free from hatred and harassment.

If you witness or experience any bullying, harassment, unwanted attention or contact, or behaviour of any kind that makes you uncomfortable, please notify a member of staff or security immediately.

You can read our full Code of Conduct here.

Additional event information

All events will be cashless unless specified otherwise.

Terms & Conditions for the sale and supply of tickets at the Trinity Centre

Introduction

This page contains the Terms & Conditions (T&Cs) for the sale of tickets through Trinity's in house ticketing system. Please read these T&Cs carefully before ordering tickets and please understand that, by placing an order, you agree to be bound by our T&Cs.

Please appreciate that if you cannot accept our T&Cs then you will not be able to purchase tickets. Tickets for some events will be found through external ticketing sites; before purchasing a ticket, please read their T&Cs as Trinity is not responsible for third party ticket sales.

Ticket purchase

By purchasing a ticket, you certify that you are at least 18 years of age, and that you have the legal capability to enter into a binding contract.

You must comply with all rules and regulations of the event, including complying with relevant licensing and statutory laws; for example, relating age, drugs & alcohol restrictions.

By purchasing a ticket you certify that it is for personal use only. Tickets must not be re-sold and any resale will result in a cancellation of the ticket, without refund.

Check the details

It is your responsibility to check the details of the ticket and the event - including any date/time changes - and to arrive at the event at the proposed time. Ticket holders may be required to queue for entry and will be subject to bag searches.

Trinity will not be held responsible for any late-admissions, or any non-admissions due to late arrival/past curfew. Please make sure you check the details of the event for information on timings.

It is your responsibility to inform us of any change to your contact address, telephone number or email address you provided us with at the time of ordering.

Purchase of multiple tickets

If purchasing multiple tickets in one purchase then all the people on the ticket must arrive at the event at the same time. Failing to do so may result in delayed, or refused entry. If this is not possible, please purchase tickets separately.

Variations to ticket price

Prices of tickets are subject to change, however once a ticket has been purchased, a change in the price of a ticket will not affect an order already processed.

In the event that a ticket is wrongly priced, if the price of the ticket is less than the price it has been sold for, Trinity will refund the difference paid by you. If the price of the ticket is higher than the price sold for, then we will contact you with instructions of what to do.

If you have purchased your ticket via a third party provider, you will need to contact them in regard to any ticket price changes, in line with their ticketing T&Cs.

Trinity will not be held responsible for any late-admission or non-admission. No refunds will be given to ticket holders who are refused entry or ejected due to their own behaviour or through breech of any licensing or statutory law.

We reserve the right to refuse and reject entry; in the case that admission could risk the safety and enjoyment of yourself and others.
