Lesley Woods led the band as frontperson, lead singer, songwriter and guitarist. Lesley was once described as “”one of the most striking women in British rock”.
Their first album 'Playing With A Different Sex' is a post-punk classic and focusses on gender and other politics. A critic from The Guardian praised it for its “viciously well-observed lyrics on contemporary life, love and the role of women “.
The band is re-forming beginning 2026 when they commence a UK tour with Lesley Woods and new members. The 2 women/2 men balance remains .
Au Pairs blend political lyrics with a tough funk-dance-rock idiom which is as relevant today as it ever was.

]]>They met at school in Minehead, Somerset and make music together at home in Bristol. Their highly lauded debut album Crisps was released in November 2023 via Breakfast Records presenting eclectic, danceable grooves and astute, hilarious put-downs of modern Britain.
They are steadily carving out a name for themselves and building momentum with their ballsto-the-wall live performances and prestigious shows with Pip Blom, Fat Dog, The Bug Club, Donny Benet, and Antony Szmierek – among many others. The band completed their biggest ever sold out headline UK tour in autumn 2024 after their vastly praised new EP release “Your Medal’s In The Post”, out on November 14th 2024, followed closely by their first ever sold out EU tour in January 2025. Their new EP 'Primordial Slot Machine' arrives on June 6th.

Internationally touring MoYah will be bringing an Afrobeat style sound fresh from his home country of Mozambique, addressing issues relating to identity, social injustices & spirituality from the perspective of a child of the African Diaspora.
CW Jones became a well know figure in Bristol in 2014 and will be performing hip hop with some modern garage vibes whilst bringing a very quirky style to the table.
Bristolian born and bred artists Audioflux led by producer “101” will bring the most unique, dark and industrial sound in the city by a country mile. The set will be a masterpiece from start to finish.
Miss Twist and Miss Blackman perform some of the grimiest filth that you are likely to hear in Bristol and really epitomize what rap music is all about - expression and realness.
The night will be capped with a DJ set from Bristol’s and properjob presents resident DJ Steve Stone.

]]>The UK Beatbox Championships returns to Bristol to celebrate the 20 year anniversary of the national event, for the Festival of Vocal Arts on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st September 2025.
The 2-day event includes all the head-to-head battles in 5 categories: Solo, Team, Loop, under 18 and introducing a brand-new international competition. This year also features a Music Careers Convention and Music Equipment & Tech Playground with workshops, talks, careers advice, panels and masterclasses from music industry experts and some of the finest voices in the beatbox world as well as live performances from National and International Beatbox icons. Experimental tribal percussion group led by Bonjo Iyabinghi Noah, blending dub and world music. Formed in 1981, the project originally showcased producer Adrian Sherwood’s experimental side via the On-U Sound label. Bonjo became increasingly central through the '80s, and by the fifth album Songs of Praise, he was lead vocalist, main percussionist, and primary songwriter. Collaborators have included Skip McDonald of Tackhead.
Gaudi
Dub/electronica/world music producer GAUDI is known for his bass-heavy, genre-defying sound. Over three decades, he’s collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Bob Marley, Shpongle, Michael Rose, Soom T, Beats Antique, and KRS-One, building a global fan base with his innovative productions.

]]>Rahsaan Patterson’s career is proof that an artist can be progressive while firmly based in gospel and R&B traditions. After a 13-year period entailing a co-starring role on Kids Incorporated, songwriting triumphs with Brandy’s “Baby” and Tevin Campbell’s “Back to the World,” and other activity behind the scenes, Patterson finally made his solo major-label debut with a self-titled album (1997) that started an unbroken streak of moderately successful, stylistically adventurous studio recordings.

]]>Bruce Foxton, formerly of The Jam and Stiff Little Fingers announces 2026 UK tour dates with his new all-star band. The career of Bruce Foxton spans almost 5 decades. He came to prominence as bassist/vocalist and songwriter for The Jam, writing and performing the lead vocals on 'News of the World', 'Smithers-Jones' along with The Kinks cover 'David Watts'. After the break of The Jam, Bruce Foxton released a solo album, 'Touch Sensitive', in 1984. He joined Stiff Little Fingers and toured and recorded with the band for over 15 years. Following his departure from Stiff Little Fingers, Bruce Foxton joined up with ex-The Jam drummer Rick Buckler, and guitarist/vocalist Russell Hastings in 2007 to tour as From The Jam.
