<p>Ash have been together for 30 years, but it was their two years apart which ultimately inspired their brilliant new album. So, when they were finally reunited to rehearse for a livestream gig in the dark days of 2021, there were some understandable nerves at how it might go. Even with 30 years of greatness behind them , the best may be yet to come.</p>

<p>The pair met at secondary school in Hackney, London. Taylor's parents were both English teachers and inevitably, various literary influences trickled into the duo's music known for their crafted and often confessional song writing style.</p>
<p>London’s famous Konk Studios, to record their most confident and collaborative work to date. The latest self titled album, inspired by Taylor’s relationship with partner and artist Billie Marten, explores love in all its early forms and features artists such as Laura Marling, Bombay Bicycle Club and M Field.</p>

Born to a Nigerian mother and Senegalese father, Camara Onono’s influences span from Nahawa Doumbia to Marvin Gaye. After playing with Afro-Venezuelan and jazz groups, he formed Balimaya Project in 2019. The 16-piece band mixes cultural nuances, bridging African and diasporic sounds.</p>
<p>Their debut album <em>Wolo So</em> and follow-up <em>When The Dust Settles</em> explore collective polyrhythms, emotional themes, and personal stories, capturing the journey of Black identity and community in the diaspora.</p>
