Half The City is the compelling full-length Single Lock/Thirty Tigers debut of the Birmingham, Alabama-based sextet, who have already created a maelstrom of interest with their roof-raising live shows and self-released four-song 2012 EP. Produced by Ben Tanner of Alabama Shakes, and recorded and mixed in the storied R&B mecca of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, the album harkens back to the region’s classic soul roots while extending the form with electrifying potency.
“When St Paul and the Broken Bones emerged from their small-town-Alabama home and started playing shows, it was almost as if a fully realised group of old pros had stepped out of a time capsule from its Muscle Shoals’ heyday” (Village Voice).

Cinco Coisas: Is a solo show structured around the five basic needs of a child – Place, Nurture, Support, Protection and Limitation. Through dance, play, clowning and improvisation it proposes to lead the audience on a purely human experience.
Jimmy Cauty’s (The ADP Riot Tour 2016): Following the ADP's critically-acclaimed appearance at Banksy's Dismaland last summer, the installation has taken to the road, re-housed in a specially converted shipping container, which will open its doors to visitors across the country, at the sites of historic riots. Trinity will be its home from 29th April: 6pm - 8th May: 9pm. open daily 10am - 7pm
Drumming Workshops of India: A positive, enthusiastic Indian drumming session that teaches a group of children about Indian drumming culture. They cover the basic Indian rhythms and drumming techniques using a wide variety of percussion. Covering the basic Indian rhythms and drumming techniques using a wide variety of percussion. They also cover a brief history of drumming culture in India, including teaching the Indian drumming language.
Bristol Samba: We will have an amazing performance from Bristol Samba. They're one of our resident groups and its always great to have them perform at our events.
Pixel Whipped: Will be joining us again this year with their amazing array of retro games consoles for you all to play.

Recorded over the course of a year against a backdrop of personal instability, Parquet Courts’ new record, Human Performance, massively expands the idea of what a Parquet Courts record can be. They’ve been one of the most critically acclaimed bands of the last 5 years; this is the record that backs all those words up.
“Every day it starts, anxiety,” began the first song on 2014’s Content Nausea. Those were essentially the song’s only lyrics, but Human Performance picks up where that thought left off, picking apart the anxieties of modern life: “The unavoidable noise of NYC that can be maddening, the kind of the impossible struggle against clutter, whether it’s physical or mental or social,” says singer, guitarist and Human Performance producer/mixer Austin Brown.
There has always been the emotional side of Parquet Courts, which has always had an important balance with the more discussed cerebral side, but Savage sees Human Performance as a redistribution of weight in that balance. “I began to question my humanity, and if it was always as sincere as I thought, or if it was a performance,” says Savage. “I felt like a sort of malfunctioning apparatus,” he says. “Like a machine programmed to be human showing signs of defect.
The sonic diversity, time, and existential effort that went into its creation makes Human Performance Parquet Courts’ most ambitious record to date. It’s a work of incredible creative vision born of seemingly insurmountable adversity. It is also their most accessible record yet.

Låpsley's minimalist electro pop radiates an intimate warmth, fuelled by her heartfelt lyrics, tipped by the Guardian as “A one-woman xx or London Grammar”
Born Holly Lapsley Fletcher in Southport, the 18-year-old is a multi-instrumentalist with a classical background, playing the oboe, piano and guitar.
Her ethereal songs were discovered by the most organic of processes - a handful of people engaging so closely with it they couldn’t help but pass them on, write about them or play them. Cue up support from the likes of BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, mentions in the NME and online support from the likes of Disco Naivete and Pigeons & Planes.
Her achingly beautiful voice wowed the BBC Introducing crowd at Glastonbury 2014 and over the course of 2014 she has become one of the most hotly-tipped new UK artists around.

6 Music champions music with an alternative spirit and the Bristol music scene has always encapsulated this like no other. As well as reflecting the city’s extraordinary contemporary music scene and its heritage, the festival will also showcase Bristol’s diverse culture through food, street art and what will be an unmissable 6 Music Festival by Day – packed full of performance, film, speech and comedy events.
The 6 Music Festival will be housed in venues across the city – Motion, Colston Hall, O2 Academy, Basement 45 and Trinity with pop-up events in other venues throughout Bristol, big and small. The full line up will be announced on January 19th along with ticket sales information.
The 6 Music Festival is one of many real gems we have to look forward to in Bristol in 2016 and will give us a unique opportunity to showcase the very best of BBC Bristol and the city to the nation.
