But it was his second album, Axis: Bold As Love that confirmed him as an artist of breathtaking musical ambition and originality. Recorded and released in late 1967, Axis: Bold As Love saw Jimi carry his guitar playing to new heights of eloquence. In honour of this landmark album's 50th anniversary, Jimi Hendrix: Slight Return take on the joyous challenge of performing Jimi's masterwork in full. As a live Entity, the five strong Revolutionary Minds expertly provide rich, upbeat, hypnotic dub rhythms behind Benjamin’s beloved vocal and lyrical mastery. Amongst these backing vocals are supplied by Amy True, an artist in her own right she is fast becoming one of the most influential and talked about personalities in the UK Hip Hop scene, being equally formidable in both her ability to sing, and her ability to deliver fast paced gritty lyricism. Revolutionary Minds as a body of work tackles the indigestible topic of the world we live in today, political & economic corruption, global warming, rampant racism, fascist patriarchy...unfortunately we could go on & on.

Amid this chaos though Revolutionary Minds, both band and album, are the soundtrack for the modern revolutionist; it will make you feel empowered, hopeful, galvanised to make a difference and make you dance; it’s a dub thing.

Fiesta Bombarda presents - kaleidoscopic collective, Submotion Orchestra, as they bring their entrancing electronic compositions to Bristol.

Formed in Leeds in 2009, the band quickly made a splash on the wider scene. Their live gigs left audiences open- mouthed, and their debut EP on Ranking Records drew a rave reaction from Gilles Peterson. Combining elements of electronic bass music, entrancing vocals, ambient, jazz and dub leaves us unable to compare them to any other group on the scene today. Their unique music is at once delicate and heavy, spacious and dense, highly atmospheric but firmly rooted. Earth-shaking bass and drums combine with lush keyboard and trumpet textures to create the perfect backdrop for the fragile beauty of Ruby Wood’s vocals, and the celestial effects of producer Ruckspin.

Fiesta Bombarda, the original carnival creatives, provide a ceremony to the senses in this unique pairing with Submotion Orchestra, merging colour and creativity in a sanctuary of modern sound and style.

On 3rd March Bristol’s Trinity Centre will be transformed by the ethereal sounds of one of the UK music scene's most up and coming and experimental orchestras.
