Feat. Ten Fé, Muncie Girls & 808INK

PRS Foundation's Momentum Music Fund presents a showcase of exciting experimental artists following a panel event.

Ten Fé
London-based Ten Fé, a five-piece consisting of songwriting duo Ben Moorhouse and Leo Duncan, with school mates Rob on bass, Johnny on keys and Alex on drums, have just released their debut album ‘Hit The Light’ to critical acclaim and returned from a rapturous European and US tour.

The band are known for a captivatingly eclectic set of songs, fusing a mix of Americana, Madchester baggy and soulful vocals with an intricate contemporary electronic underscore. Their Ewan Pearson-produced LP, recorded in Berlin, was lauded by NME, Line of Best Fit, Clash, Noisey, Consequence of Sound, and given 4-stars from The Guardian. Rolling Stone said their brand of “dark pop-electronica and organic Americana” was “exciting, expansive and heavily impassioned”.

They received the PRS Momentum Award in June 2016 and BPI Music Export Grant in February 2017, which helped the band to release their album on their own label through a distribution relationship with [PIAS] and tour abroad extensively. ‘Hit The Light’ was released in February 2017 and has been streamed over 20 million times, and appeared in Spotify’s most followed playlists. They have just returned from headlining the new bands stage at Austin City Limits where they played to a packed-out field of ardent fans. The band are currently recording their second album with new music coming out very soon!

Muncie Girls
Born in punk shows and dive bars to three driven teenagers in 2012, Muncie Girls embodies the classic punk rock story in a modern context. Fuelled by discontent and anxiety, they eloquently address issues of modern living as a self-aware young adult. The result is an ambitious and poignant rebellion against social norms that touches on everything from politics to interpersonal relationships.

808INK
808INK is an alternative music duo originating from London, consisting of producer 808Charmer and rapper Mumblez Black Ink.

The Momentum Music Fund is run by PRS Foundation using public funds from Arts Council England, support from PPL, and is in association with Spotify.

GoGo Penguin are pianist Chris Illingworth, bassist Nick Blacka and drummer Rob Turner. Their music has been described as acoustic-electronica but they draw equally on rock, jazz and minimalism, game soundtracks and glitchy-electronica to create their unique music. It’s music for the heart, head and feet and saw their album v2.0 (Gondwana records) named a Mercury Prize album of the year 2014 alongside albums from Damon Albarn, Young Fathers and Jungle. In 2015 they signed to Blue Note Records and released the album Man Made Object in 2016. More recently they have been touring their own score to Godfrey Reggio’s cult film Koyaanisqatsi. Their new album, A Humdrum Star will be released on February 9, 2018.
