Join the Hype crew this Summer!

Hype Dance company will be open through the summer holidays! come and learn different street dance styles and also have fun, build confidence and meet new people.

Classes are held every Wednesday:

6pm to 7pm for ages 5-11 yrs old
7pm to 8pm for ages 12+

£5 per session (please arrive 10 minutes early to sign in)

Some of the most recent achievements of the Hype performance groups are:

2014: XM British Street Dance Championship - 1^st place; performances at The Youth 4 Youth; Breakin' Convention; Big Dance Urban Jam and Dance Village at Bristol Harbour Fest

2013: UDO Midland Street Dance Championship - 1^st place; BDO South Coast Street Dance Championship – 1^st place; CBBC Aleasha's Street Dance Stars TV show - Semi Finalists; performances at Set4Set; Bristol Harbour Fest & St Paul's Carnival

2012: Street Fest Eurodance Crew Battle Champions - 1^st place; performance at Breakin' Convention and Bristol Harbour Fest

2011: Bristol's Best Dance Act; UDO Street Dance National Champions

The Hype crew has also opened for big acts performing in Bristol, like Sean Paul, Neyo and Ginuwine and has had regular appearances in Bristol's annual events like the Harbour Festival, BrisFest; St Paul's Carnival, Breakin' Convention and appeared on big TV shows like Britain's Got Talent and Got to Dance.

Hype wins 1st place!

We are very excited to share great news from the Hype Dance crew who have recently won 1st place at the XM British Open Street Dance Weekend 2014.

The competition for all ages and abilities took place at Haven Golden Sands Holiday Park (Lincolnshire) from the 28th to the 30th March.

Hype smashed it even though they had 1 man down because of an injury and changed the mix 10 minutes before showtime! We are proud of all of you, coming back to Bristol with 37 trophies, so much talent from age 7 all the way to 17. You all have represented Hype Dance Company to the fullest, so well done!

Hype Dance's little stars

Keep an eye out for Lil Hype who are taking part in Aleasha Dixson's Street Dance Stars on CBBC from Monday 20^th August. This fierce contest showcases amazing dance crews from across the UK, all hoping to win the ultimate prize of being Aleashas' Street Dance Champions. Here's hoping Lil Hype can show them all how it is done.

Fancy having a go yourself? Hype Dance rehearses at the Trinity Centre every Wednesday and they are currently recruiting strong male and female dancers, 16-25yrs old who are up for performing at events and competing nationwide and across Europe! Contact thype@hotmail.co.uk for more info.

Lil Hype Needs New Members

Hype Dance are looking for more dancers ages 5-10 years to join this amazing Urban Dance troupe. The groups perform across the city and beyond and have a string of awards and successes under their belts. Please come down to the LIL HYPE session every Wednesday at Trinity 6pm-7pm, price £3.50 - free for their 1st session. Hope to see you there!

Hype qualify for World Dance Championships

Hype Dance Company entered three groups into the UDO Southern Street Dance Championships in Reading and all of them got through to the international event which will be held in Blackpool on August 1-3.The youngest group of children, aged between five and 10 years old, will not attend, instead they will be staying in Bristol to perform at the Harbour Festival.

All the groups, which rehearse at the Easton Leisure Centre and Trinity Arts Centre, will be performing in the Galleries in Broadmead on July 19 and at the Bristol Balloon Fiesta from August 7-10.

The dancers have had success before - the senior group, aged between 16 and 25, has won at London's Notting Hill Carnival for two years running.
