The Brand New Heavies, are a British music institution whose unique mix of jazz, funk and soul has lit up the UK music scene for well over two decades.
In the wake of the 25th anniversary of Acid Jazz (the label that signed ‘The Heavies’ in 1990), 2013 sees the release of their first full studio album in nearly seven years: ‘Forward’, featuring original vocal collaborator N’ Dea Davenport and introducing new vocalist Dawn Joseph.

Over the years The Brand New Heavies have been responsible for some of the UK’s biggest R & B/ soul tracks, scoring 16 top 40 singles including ‘Dream On Dreamer’ and ‘You’ve Got A Friend’, as well as over two million album sales.

The South West Hoop Conference is back at Trinity for the 4th year, hosting a high intensity weekend of classes, workshops, shows and an LED hoop ball.

Each year Hooping Mad offers a range of the best international hoop teachers and instructors as well as some of the best home grown talent. This year we have Hoop workshops from: Nick Guzzardo, Sharna Rose, Nick Broyd, Kenna Hoops

Throughout the weekend there are a huge variety of hoop workshops with a few others thrown in such as Beginners Tumbling, Charleston Dance, Body Popping, Belly Dance. Saturday and Sunday will start with a morning yoga session with Atiya of Atiya Yoga.

Friday night includes a beginners fire night where you can learn fire hoop in a safe environment. Saturday night features a showcase where a mix of great international performers show off their skills, followed by an LED ball where you can bust out some of your new moves!

One year and one day after his sell out Rhyme and Reason debut in Bristol, We are delighted to welcome back Christopher Martin better known as DJ PREMIER. One half of legendary duo Gangstarr, he is the man Rolling Stone magazine named the best hip-hop producer ever. Last time in Bristol he played a two hour set and we've been told to expect more of the same this time round. Its not usually our custom to book US artists twice in succession, but we've made an exception given how good the last show was.
SIR BEANS OBE. A fellow DJ and beatmaker, Beans has been a member of groups Transcript Carriers and Parlour Talk which have received national acclaim. Expect a mix of classic and new school tunes of the funky hip hop persuasion mixed to military precision.

UPFRONT MC is one of Bristol's best hip hop MC's. His group Split Prophets, have become one of the most influential groups in UK hip hop. Following the success of 2 solo e.p's and a host of Prophets material, He is about to bring out his first solo L.P. AS usual he will be backed by his DJ and Producer Badhabitz (Krate Krusaders)

It gives us great pleasure to give an R+R debut to MistaFire MC from the most slept on crew in the country, Se Fire. The hard hitting lyricist makes a rare Bristol appearance to showcase both new material and classic Se Fire bars.

R+R resident and flyer artist DJ Fingerfood is once again on the ones and twos. The 4 owls DJ is becoming the busiest man in UK hiphop, playing multiple shows, making beats and launching clothing label Squared Roots.

Case’s unpredictable compositional style marks her return with her anticipated sixth solo studio album 'The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You', out on Monday 2nd Sept.

Her Billboard Number 3 album from 2009, 'Middle Cyclone', earned her mainstream arrival through long hours in the studio, producing, writing, and recording her own records, in addition to touring relentlessly both as a solo act and with The New Pornographers.

Her new album, as she tells it, is the result of a specific set of circumstances in her life: “I fought hard against the feeling of grief all my life, but about three years ago I finally had to give in and mourn the dead. I had to look inward more than I wanted. It was sobering, and I often felt like I was blurring the lines of mental illness. When I stopped fighting it, it took me where I needed to go.”
